Replacing fire hose reels with extinguishers

In compliance with Annex 7 of APSAD regulation R5, fire hose reels in corridors and offices can be replaced by fire extinguishers. The extinguishers must, however, have an N4 certificate of conformity with APSAD regulation R4. Furthermore, the office walls shall be at least ordinary partition walls (MS0) as described in APSAD R15. Compliance with R5 therefore implies installing hose reels in every room or compliance with R4.

In short, a fully R5-compliant system means installing hose reels everywhere. To introduce a little more flexibility to this analysis, it is possible to not install hose reels in offices and corridors but an N4 certificate of conformity is required.

Where there is a large proportion of offices, it will certainly be more economical.
